Stitched Urns

“STITCHED URN” is the result of a visual and haptic exploration into the perversion of materials. The Urns' appear to be soft and malleable but are actually hard and fragile.
The urns are made from a cross-pollination of mediums and crafts, stitched together to make a vessel form. Its tactile nature is captured through the process of slip casting. The vessel is fired and sets the object with a sense of permanency. The urn holds a balance of senses somewhere between hard, soft, durable and fragile.
