Ruud Groeneveld

Ruud Groeneveld: Born on July 18th 1973 in the Harbor city Rotterdam. He studies Industrial design and engineering at the university in Delft. Right after his graduation he founded together with Laurence Venne (graduated aerospace engineer) and Baja Innovation, ‘Product Design Studio DUNC’. A company specialized in designing, engineering and producing professional enclosures for electronics. With offices in Oegstgeest (NL) and Shenzhen (China). Beside the SME companies, they serve international clients like: Philips, Honeywell, Opticon, Bose, Vattenfall, Eneco and Shell.
At DUNC, Ruud is the creative director and is responsible for the conceptual design of the products. Besides the advanced technical design and engineering, he still has the urge to design his own product designs and art.
September 2021 - Ruud and Carissa ten Tije were brainstorming about the possibilities of dichroic glass. They united their forces and started ‘Sodalime’ to create their own collection called ‘Dichroic’. With this collection they try to show the mesmerizing possibilities of dichroic glass.
April 2022 - Sodalime had a successful debut launch at the Milan design week in Palazzo Francesco Turati (It), and got a lot of attention and offers.
Spring 2023, the complete collection exhibited at ToolsGalerie in Paris (Fr).
